The foundation of The Alternative was laid on the belief that democracy thrives when citizens are informed, engaged, and empowered to hold their leaders accountable. Recognizing the challenges posed by voter apathy, corruption, and the erosion of democratic values, our movement was established to fill a critical gap in Nigeria's political and social framework.
Milestones Along the Way
The Alternative, from its inception with grassroots mobilization and citizen education on democratic rights, has achieved significant milestones, including the launch of zonal town hall meetings across Nigeria's geopolitical zones to foster dialogue, conducting educational campaigns to combat vote trading and promote voter participation, and consistently advocating for transparency and accountability in governance to ensure elected officials uphold integrity.
